Saw a psychiatrist today about my anti-depression cocktail. Seemed a very nice guy and quite competent. After an hour or so of discussion, we decided I should try getting back on Casodex in about 2 weeks – assuming the cocktail continues working.
I must admit I’m a bit anxious about this. The Adderall starts to wear off in the evening, and I can feel depression creeping back in, but it’s not bad. The last thing I want is another reaction similar to the last time I tried to get on Casodex.
Unlike the other doctors, this guy believes that it is possible for radiation to cause severe depression. The body reacts in profound ways to massive damage, such as caused by radiation. One of those reactions can absolutely be depression. I’m hoping the radiation did play a major role in this because months have passed since the treatment. Hopefully, my Casodex reaction in two weeks will be greatly muted by that.
