Just found out another side effect of prostate cancer is loss of taste or food starting to taste metallic. I don’t have the metallic taste issue, yet, but my sense of taste is so diminished that eating is more about sustenance than enjoyment. Still, there are times where food tastes very good. I’m really appreciative when that happens.
I know how you feel. Chemo ruined my tastes and food lost its joy. I’m glad some things still put a smile on your tongue.
I thought I would lose my taste when I went on chemo. Big surprise that the cancer could do that on its own. Oh well
From yet another unintended consequence of chemo, I still don’t have my sense of taste back, I definitely understand what you mean about sustenance versus taste and pleasure. This disease takes so much more then people realize.
I can’t believe I missed your other two posts! I definitely have to get more active in the blogosphere.
I thought once you stopped chemo your taste came back. What a drag.
I had the metallic taste during chemo. It took months to get it bsvk. I still can’t go into Au Bon Pan or Panera. Barf city.
Really sorry to hear this – tough – very tough. This may be pointless/irrelevant but have you seen this:

very best wishes – travel well. S
No I had not seen this. Thanks! Unfortunately, they’re not recruiting in the Dallas area. I’m also not sure I want to start a trial where I might not get the good stuff.
